You know the feeling… soft pink skies with beautiful blues, and that warm golden glow along the shoreline. The world seems to grow quieter as the sun begins to sink, leaving nothing but the gentle rhythm of the waves and peacefulness as a good beach day comes to a close.   

Sandy Beach Sunset is created on the inside of a naturally ribbed cockle shell collected from Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

I used acrylic paints, watercolor pencils, real South Carolina coastal sand, and a touch of mother-of-pearl, sealed with a high-gloss finish.
